We know how frustrating it can be to have your home or business over run by pests! Whether you have an infestation of rodents or just normal household insects and bugs that seem to take over, our team can help get rid of them for you!
ANTS
Ants are attracted to food sources so can often invade homes. They have the potential to carry disease and are often attracted to the plastic on electrical wiring. This means they can not only damage the wiring in your home but also may start electrical fires.
COCKROACHES
Cockroaches survive on a variety of foodstuffs and can reproduce prolifically causing infestations. They can carry infectious human diseases such as salmonella and gastroenteritis as well as causing allergies. They thrive in warm, humid climates.
FLEAS
Fleas can become a problem in household pets. They feed on the blood of humans and animals. Fleas can transmit typhus and tapeworm larvae. Check your pets for fleas by parting the fur and look for fleas or flea faeces which appear as dark specks in the fur. Rodents also carry fleas so they may be treated at the same time.
MOSQUITOES
Mosquitoes carry serious diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, Ross River virus and are responsible for more deaths in the world than any other animal. Mozzies like humid weather and lay their eggs in stale water. Female mosquitoes lay hundreds of eggs every few days and the life cycle can be complete within a couple of weeks.
BEES AND WASPS
Bees and wasps like to build their nests in eaves, trees, fences and walls or any concealed spaces. Bees pollinate plants and flowers while wasps also prey on flies, caterpillars and beetles. Many people are allergic to their stings which can be life threatening.
FLIES
Flies are attracted to odours from garbage, rotting food and flesh, and manure. Flies pick up pathogens from these areas and can transfer these to surfaces and foods in your home spreading diseases like food poisoning and dysentery.
BIRDS
While many of us encourage birds into our gardens, they can become a problem when they build nests or roost in your home. Their droppings can corrode home or building exteriors. Birds also carry mites which can infest homes looking for a blood-meal from humans. They are particularly active during spring and early summer. Bites from mites cause itching and swelling and may result in secondary infections from scratching.
POSSUMS
Possums might look cute and cuddly but if they invade your home they can chew through electrical wiring, cause a ruckus, and their fur carries a variety of ticks, mites and other parasites which can be transmitted to animals and humans. Their faeces may carry the Buruli bacteria which can cause skin ulcers in humans. Possums eat almost any food available and destroy trees, wildlife and gardens.
SPIDERS
There are over 2,000 spider species in Australia but most are harmless. Redback spiders and the Sydney funnelweb are the only two that have caused deaths in the past. However, antivenoms have meant there have been no spider deaths in Australia since 1980. Nevertheless, a bite from some spiders such as the whitetailed can cause pain, swelling and other unpleasant symptoms. Spiders only bite when threatened so it’s best not to touch them.
RATS AND MICE
Rats and mice pose major health risks. They can carry and transmit over 35 diseases such as leptospirosis and typhus. They cause unpleasant odours in the home, carry ticks and fleas, and can contaminate food with their hair, faeces and urine. They chew through electrical wiring, insulation, particle board, wood and food containers. In SA the most common species are the Black rat, the Norwegian Brown rat and the house mouse.
Time to get rid of those pests!
I have known Adam and his family for over 30 years. I have always found Adam polite and genuine and a person I trust. Since he started Aussie Mozzie he has worked hard and has had pride in what he does.
Adam has done my 2 properties since he started and I have recommended his service to many friends and neighbours and they too have been very happy with his service and recommended him to others.
